Photo Tips...
Always keep your camera loaded and accessible
Check batteries frequently, and make sure the lens is clean and dust free
Learn your camera's features before you need them, to avoid surprises and
missed moments
Find a brand of film you like, and stick with it
Be sure to use the appropriate film: ISO 100 for everyday shots, ISO 400
for low-light, and ISO 1000 in extremely low light conditions and when stopping action (car racing, water skiing,
etc.)
Never expose your camera and film to excessive heat, cold, or x-rays. Carry
camera gear on airplanes and have your camera, film and video equipment hand checked at every airport security
station
Always photograph children at their eye level
Don't photograph too close to the subject; point and shoot cameras can distort
the picture
Asking a child to say "cheese" usually results in artificial reactions.
To capture a natural smile, say or do something funny
For more interesting pictures, try placing the subject off center. Look
around, and use your imagination, to create different photo options
Find a quality source for developing and printing your photos; shop around
and ask friends for references. The right lab can make the difference between a good photo... and a great one.
Take lots of pictures. Use smaller rolls of film to encourage frequent use
of your camera.
